Every month our studio, Studio 51 in Charlotte, NC hosts a Creative Lounge Meetup. We open up the studio to guest photographers and models and see what develops. The theme of Creative Lounge is that there IS no theme. What happens at Creative Lounge happens after the doors are open. Nothing is planned. I recently had the pleasure of working with Candi Raven to explore some new light painting techniques. This session really opened the door to a whole new approach to light painting. This was the first session that I shot on a white background. It presented some issues with casting my shadow on the wall, but once I realized that I could paint over it during the exposure we were good to go. I really love what we created and can’t wait to explore these techniques more.
Mary came all the way from Tennessee for a shoot with a few photogs in the area and I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of working with her while she was in town. She brought some awesome costumes and once she put on the purple wig I didn’t want her to take it off!
